Seoul reports that Lee of South Korea and Takaichi of Japan will meet on Tuesday
South Korea and Japan are set to hold another high-level summit as President Lee Jae Myung prepares to host Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi in Andong. Seoul described the meeting as an opportunity to deepen trust and reinforce a more stable partnership at a time when regional diplomacy is under heightened scrutiny across East Asia.
The summit follows an earlier leaders’ meeting held in Japan and reflects an effort by both governments to sustain momentum in bilateral ties. By framing the visit as a state occasion with cultural events and official hospitality, both sides appear keen to project continuity, political confidence and a wider commitment to improving relations between two countries whose cooperation remains strategically important in the broader regional balance.
